Stress has been associated with so many physical illnesses that it is impossible to list them all here. Stress not dealt with can also lead to psychological illnesses such as depression, anxiety, phobias, paranoia and others.

Poorly dealt with stress is also very costly for companies. It is estimated the workplace stress costs American companies approximately $300 billion dollars annually.

Stress can cloud the mind and make it difficult to make good decisions which can then lead to additional stress. Stress can cause us to lose focus and concentration which leads to mistakes and accidents.

Successful dieting requires a change in mindset and emotions around food, eating, exercising, self image and other psychological issues. Just changing what you eat for a few days or weeks or fasting for a few hours will not create lasting changes. Over the course of almost 40 years as a psychotherapist I have counseled many clients and patients in making changes to their self image, self esteem and developing personal discipline. I have found that these changes are essential for making lifestyle changes that create a more fulfilling, healthier and happier life.
